"Yes they are a full service bakery with a variety of wonderful items…BUT THE GOOEYS. The most heavenly, buttery, wonderful cake you will ever experience. The king cake version is great, but you have to try the almond and praline versions. Transcendent. And yeah, you can get awesome croissants, king cakes, danish, etc. - but do not leave without that ooey gooey goodness!"

"I rarely write reviews, but I felt inclined to because Shawna was so cool. I’ve been going to Haydel’s for years and usually stop at the original location, so this was actually my first time visiting the Magazine Street shop. I was delighted to stop in and talk New Orleans history for a bit. She was incredibly warm, welcoming, and made the whole visit feel even more special. It was also my girlfriend’s first time ever going to Haydel’s, and she absolutely loved it. The hospitality was top tier and really made the experience. The Magazine Street location is super convenient, and it still carries that same classic Haydel’s quality and hometown feel that made me love the original spot. From king cakes to pastries to everything else, they are simply the best bakery in the world! Top flight. I also have to say, as a white customer, the review below calling her racist is complete nonsense. From my experience, she was nothing but kind, professional, and welcoming. That sounds more like someone who came in with bad energy and didn’t understand basic courtesy and respect. Haydel’s is a true New Orleans staple and always a treat to visit. "Great desserts and customer service. My favorites were the cake with pineapple and strawberry. It was light and airy and the chocolate chip cookie was perfect. I did get the cream cheese danish, double chocolate cookie and cheesecake(has the texture of a kings cake). All of those items were dry and I did not enjoy. Paid parking on the street. I would return due to the items I was able to enjoy. In there defense it was the end of the day near closing."
