Holiday Inn New Orleans-Downtown Superdome by IHG

"Stayed here for 6 days and the location was very convenient! Easy walking distance to the Superdome and not too far at all from Canal Street and streetcar access. The room and amenities were good too! Gym was spacious and well maintained, while the pool was heated and had a great view of the city skyline. There were two main negatives of our stay. First, the walls seemed to be thin between rooms as we often could hear noise from other guests on either side. We could also occasionally hear noise from the outdoor pool area. Additionally, and this was the bigger issue, the 8th floor is where the hotel has an event space and there was a wedding reception happening on a Saturday night during our stay. While I get that New Orleans can be a party city and it was a weekend, the disruptions from this event at the hotel were awful. We were one floor up from where the event was and could hear loud music until 2 AM. It was so loud we had to call the front desk to get it turned down. Others on our floor were disrupted by the noise as well. If you stay at this hotel, I would recommend asking for a room on a higher floor (especially on a weekend if available) to avoid the noise of the 8th floor."

"We chose this location attending an event nearby. Very easy walk to Superdome or Smoothie King arena. A bit further to touristy areas but doable. We did online check-in and that made actual check-in fast compared to those that didn’t. “Nice” view from our room although nothing to write home about. Room was comfortable and large enough for the 2 of us. Several nearby restaurants as well as one in the hotel serving typical New Orleans dishes. Only negative was we had an adjoining room with a family in the room next to us that we could hear. We were not there long enough to try out the other hotel amenities."
